Postal Service Announcement Boosts FedEx, UPS Stocks

By Matthew Rothschild, February 8, 2013

In this week that saw the U.S. Postmaster declare that Saturday delivery will end in August, critics like Ralph Nader and Bernie Sanders predicted that it would help the competitors of the Postal Service.

Well their prediction has already come true.

This week, FedEx’s stock price went up 4 percent and UPS’s went up 3 percent, while the Dow was down 0.1 percent.

Coincidence?

I think not.

The privatizers are getting their way.
