Cheney Stoops to New Lows in Criticizing Obama over Christmas Bombing Attempt

Ever since Barack Obama took office, Dick Cheney has been predicting another terrorist attack on our soil.
So when Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab tried to take down that Northwest Airlines flight on Christmas, Cheney couldn’t resist crowing about it—and taking a couple more cheap shots at Barack Obama.
“We are at war, and when President Obama pretends we aren’t, it makes us less safe,” Cheney said. "He seems to think if he gives terrorists the rights of Americans, lets them lawyer up and reads them their Miranda rights, we won't be at war."
Actually, Obama understands full well that we’re at war against Al Qaeda.
Here’s what he said in his Inaugural Address:
To “those who seek to advance their aims by inducing terror and slaughtering innocents, we say to you now that our spirit is stronger and cannot be broken -- you cannot outlast us, and we will defeat you. “
And here’s what he said on December 28:
“Those who would slaughter innocent men, women and children must know that the United States will more -- do more than simply strengthen our defenses. We will continue to use every element of our national power to disrupt, to dismantle and defeat the violent extremists who threaten us, whether they are from Afghanistan or Pakistan, Yemen or Somalia, or anywhere where they are plotting attacks against the U.S. homeland.”
Obama also grasps one thing that Cheney does not: that when the United States tortures people, it only fuels the resentment that breeds recruits like Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab.
Cheney and Bush had eight years in power. They were totally asleep at the wheel when 9/11 happened. They had bin Laden cornered in Tora Bora but outsourced the job, and he got away. Instead of crushing Al Qaeda, they indulged their Iraq fantasy and diverted enormous resources to that foolish and illegal war.
So who is Cheney to talk?
Obama has responded swiftly and responsibly to the Christmas bombing attempt.
He owned up to the fact that “a systemic failure has occurred,” which he rightly called “totally acceptable.”
He immediately tightened security.
And he ordered two internal reviews.
Yes, he should do more.
He should fire Janet Napolitano for her unforgivable remark that “the system worked.” And whoever fed her that line should be canned, too.
And he should fire anyone in the intelligence agencies who mishandled the crucial bits of information that were available about this plot.
But to say that Obama denies we’re at war because “it doesn’t fit with what seems to be the goal of his presidency—social transformation—the restructuring of American society” is about as low as Cheney can go.
And he can go pretty low.

Greg,
Hard to read you at times, but I assume you were being facetious.
But, I for one, feel that "Big Dick" will be quite comfortable with them Death Panels.
Expect the Neoconners, once they are back in
official power, to forget all about their outrage over "Health Care Reform", with all it's baggage.
Same as the Maoist (formerly known as the Democrats) forgot about their outrage over Military
Adventurism in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Pakistan.
Now Obama has made these "Stan Wars" quite the Liberal way to go.
If you even bothered to watch those Youtube links
, I referred you to, the ones where Dick is kissing David Rockefeller's butt at the CFR, where he speaks to David about the "Great Work" ( code for destroying the US's Constitution and Sovereignty, establishing One World Governance), then you would have seen our Shadow Government at work.
This "Underwear Bomber" was escorted past screening, by whom, witnesses described as a "Sharp Dressed Man", whose existence was at first denied, but later confirmed and he was vaguely stated to be on permanent detention ( other wise known as "Let Go"
to move on to next assignment).
Diplomatic Immunity does come in handy, after all, and Obama just gave plenty to Interpol, just in case
they might need it, while performing Shenanigans around the USA, with his amending of Executive Order 12425, recently.
Our Euro-Commie Brethren are all part of the Fraternity, no doubt, and we need to make quasi-legal what they have been doing for years, anyway.
Mossad operatives, roaming this Country as we speak, must be envious, but they have been given the "Wink and a Nod" for years, and anyway they can always squeal Anti Semite, should any one have not received the Memo, and takes them to task for different Skullduggeries, performed while undertaking the "Great Work".
And, if you will recall, at the Military Base
in Texas, many witnessed multiple shooters and it was reported, at first, there being several "arrests", but later corrected to state, "Lone Nut Muslim".
Now, with all these events, we see the Agenda immediately unfold, as full body scanners are wheeled out (to teach you submission and to reveal the size of your Johnson), to be followed shortly by mandatory "Shock Collars", that were already being promoted for the last several months, and then it is on to Yemen with the Anglo American Empire, as they desperately try to keep our minds off the fact that they have "Raped" and "Looted" the American People.
But, correct me if I am wrong, Greg will be cheering as we finally go after them Islamo Fascist, while the real Fascist, run amuck and have their way with us.
Guys, at least read Orwell's book "1984"---
these dudes weren't just writers who accidently
turned out to be Prophetic.
If you studied the lives of people like Huxley and Orwell, you would find that they were in positions to understand the Game Plan.
Orwell was trying to warn from his inside knowledge, Huxley, on the other hand, was just proposing a nicer alternative and in fact wrote Orwell congratulating him on his 1984 work, but defensively stated that his "Brave New World" model would replace the "1984" model.
Here is the best hope Uncle Aldous had to offer us
when Huxley announced: "There will be in the next generation or so a pharmacological method of making people love their servitude and producing dictatorship without tears, so to speak. Producing a kind of painless concentration camp for entire societies so that people will in fact have their liberties taken away from them but will rather enjoy it, because they will be distracted from any desire to rebel by propaganda, or brainwashing, or brainwashing enhanced by pharmacological methods. And this seems to be the final revolution."
If only we could have been so lucky, Aldous.
I think that your "Model" was rejected, somewhere down the line and they sort of like the "!984" approach.
Messy, yet effective, and more enjoyable
to many, in the implementation.
Well, you meant well, trying to get us a better deal.
Thanks anyway.
Here are some quotes from other famous members of this Elite Club of "Prophets"
"The conscious and intelligent manipulation of the organized habits and opinions of the masses is an important element in democratic society. Those who manipulate this unseen mechanism of society constitute an invisible government which is the true ruling power of our country."- Edward Bernays (nephew of Sigmund Freud) in his 1928 book Propaganda.
“The populace will not be allowed to know how its convictions were generated. When the technique has been perfected, every government that has been in charge of education for a generation will be able to control its subjects securely without the need of armies or policemen."
- Bertrand Russell, "The Impact of Science on Society", 1953
"On those rare occasions, when a boy or girl who has passed the age at which it is usual to determine social status shows such marked ability as to seem the intellectual equal of the rulers, a difficult situation will arise, requiring serious consideration. If the youth is content to abandon his previous associates and to throw in his lot whole-heartedly with the rulers, he may, after suitable tests, be promoted, but if he shows any regrettable solidarity with his previous associates, the rulers will reluctantly conclude that there is nothing to be done with him...before his ill-disciplined intelligence has had time to spread revolt. This will be a painful duty to the rulers, but I think they will not shrink from performing it."
- Bertrand Russell, "The Scientific Outlook", 1931
Education should aim at destroying free will, so that, after pupils have left school, they shall be incapable, throughout the rest of their lives, of thinking or acting otherwise than as their schoolmasters would have wished."
"Diet, injections, and injunctions will combine, from a very early age, to produce the sort of character and the sort of beliefs that the authorities consider desirable, and any serious criticism of the powers that be will become psychologically impossible."
"Gradually, by selective breeding, the congenital differences between rulers and ruled will increase until they become almost different species. A revolt of the plebs would become as unthinkable as an organized insurrection of sheep against the practice of eating mutton."
- Bertrand Russell, "The Impact of Science on Society", 1953, pg 49-50
